This was my first ever roller coaster, and what can i say? Absoloutely fantastic, brilliant! The double down first drop is excellent! The average sized drops are very thrilling and even the minature drops are capable of producing the best quality airtime in the park!! To put it simply, the Grand National is my favourite coaster around! And the fact that it races just makes the experience even better!! 10/10 - jack briggs

This is simply fun, it’s not particularly thrilling, but racing the carriage next to you is great. The ride is like most at BPB a little rough round the edges, but a charming little coaster. That photo doesn't show the Grand National I know. - Emily G

I know it's sacrilege to ONLY rate this venerable coaster legend as merely "outstanding", but of the several times I've ridden it, only once did I have a truly enjoyable ride that didn't beat me to a bruised pulp! And here's the real secret, boys and girls: First of all, do NOT sit right over the wheels! And, secondly, have a coat with you that you can roll up and place snugly between your lap and the lap bar or, believe me, you're in for an endurance test! In other words -- OUCH! But, once the proper precautions have been observed, then, oh boy, this one is a real treat! One of the only remaining racing coasters of its type -- another example being John Miller's Kennywood Racer -- this consists of one long track which only appears to be two parallel courses. And if you start out in the train on the left, you'll end up on the right upon your return to the station, and vice- versa, which must be one of those Twilight Zone moments for those unprepared for this interesting quirk in coastering! And the ride itself is non-stop excitement from the top of the lift to the brakes, as each train vies to be first at the finish line. It may not be the smoothest of creations, but it sure is memorable! And that gorgeous art deco loading station looks good enough to eat! (One expects to run into Hercule Poirot at any moment!) - Paul Clemens

All i can say is what a fantastic ride! This is such a good coaster to go to get the dat started, plenty of thrill over the drops, and penty of speed! I like the new trains they have, nice and comfortable, but the stupid seat separater makes it a little less comfotable! I just love this ride, a classic woodey, and a great laugh!!! - Ben Dore
