Gwazi LionRoller coasterMinimum height to ride: 48 inches About Gwazi LionThrill seekers at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay can ride the legendary Gwazi, the Southeast’s largest and fastest double wooden roller coaster featuring 1.25 million feet of twisting lumber. Named after a fabled lion with a tiger's head, Gwazi takes riders through 7,000 feet of track and six “flybys” in which the trains pass each other at crossing speeds of 100 mph. According to African legend, the Gwazi Lion, with its superior strength, is locked in an intense battle over territory with the Gwazi Tiger, known for its cunning and superior speed. Each coaster has a distinct theme that symbolizes the different personalities and environments of the ferocious cats. Gwazi lion’s territory includes lava rocks in an African desert atmosphere, while the Gwazi tiger claims the lush landscape and cool streams of Asia. -- Last edited by Justin Kermgard [Update this description | Read previous versions] Photos from Gwazi LionSafety
Readers' Opinions
the gwazi lion is not that thrilling compared to the gwazi tiger.the gwazi tiger is more smoother and more fun. - haley swinehart 8/10. I personally like this one better than the tiger. It is a little rough though. - Nicholas Gammon This is a good wooden coaster creation. It is slightly rough, but rarely has much of a line and is a good time. - Patrick Gorham This is really just a fun ride. It's not very rough, it's a bit thrilling, and has a lot of air-time. It's deffinatey not as good as the tiger, which has double the air-time. - Asher Oosterbaan The lion side is just ok. It lacks the airtime that makes the tiger side fun. - Roxy M
