Gwazi TigerRoller coasterMinimum height to ride: 48 inches About Gwazi TigerThrill seekers at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay can ride the legendary Gwazi, the Southeast’s largest and fastest double wooden roller coaster featuring 1.25 million feet of twisting lumber. Named after a fabled lion with a tiger's head, Gwazi takes riders through 7,000 feet of track and six “flybys” in which the trains pass each other at crossing speeds of 100 mph. According to African legend, the Gwazi Lion, with its superior strength, is locked in an intense battle over territory with the Gwazi Tiger, known for its cunning and superior speed. Each coaster has a distinct theme that symbolizes the different personalities and environments of the ferocious cats. Gwazi lion’s territory includes lava rocks in an African desert atmosphere, while the Gwazi tiger claims the lush landscape and cool streams of Asia. -- Last edited by Justin Kermgard [Update this description | Read previous versions] Photos from Gwazi TigerSafety
Readers' Opinions
7/10. Much rougher than the lion side. - Nicholas Gammon I thought this was much better than the lion side. I thought it was lacking compared to most other GCI coasters, but it is still a solid ride. - Patrick Gorham i prefer this side over the lion. i think the drop's bigger or maybe there's more airtime. oh and i see people here are whining about it being bumpy? hello its a WOODEN coaster, ALL of them are like that. if you think gwazi is bumpy, oh boy you have not ridden very many wooden coasters. just try the cyclone from coney island, that one will dislocate your bones. seriously, the gwazi compared to other woodies, is like comparing the kraken (extremely smooth) to the hulk (bangs your head around). - roxy m
