Readers' Opinions
This was admittedly my very first coaster experience of my life, so I do hold some sentimental value for this, the original Canada's Wonderland steel coaster that used to be the ICON for the park when it first opened in the early 80's. I often seek this ride out as my "appetizer" coaster when I first arrive at the park in order to prep me for the carnage to come. The drop hill is a very modest one in comparison with the monsters now inhabiting the park, and that is the real downfall of this particular ride. Although the drop hill provides adequate speed for the first two loop inversions, the corkscrew depletes any remaining momentum and by the time you hit the utterly unnecessary circle turn before the final brake of the car you're crawling. With expansion space at a premium (where were you Cedar Point before all the suburban houses engulfed the Wonderland park boundaries?) this ride could be seeing it's last days as a viable ride on the lot. I would encourage a major refurbishment or replacement of this ride...I think a Dragon's Fire Sequel would be in order - "The Dragon's Fire - Vengence" has a nice ring to it. An edition that preserves the concept of the original ride but puts the flames back into the Medeval Fayre section of the park. - William LeMasurier Your standard double loop, double corkscrew. Surprisingly smooth for this type of ride. - Scottland Jacobson
