Readers' Opinions
Sky Rider was Canada's first standup coaster and is very much a reworking of the Dragon's Fire configuration with a Standup twist. The quirky loading mechanisms lead to longer than appropriate wait times for this extremely short duration coaster which was designed at a time when steel coasters were still in their infancy. The weak knees sensation on the drop hill is an interesting feeling, however the shallow lift provides only modest speed and the small waves and circle curve is just plain boring (this must have been a design requirement for C/W when it was under original ownership as it appeared too often in the early coaster designs) Note: They used to have an original ride at C/W called the Barryn Curve (sp?) located next to the ClockWorx swing that was simply a Electric circle coaster...go figure. All in all Sky Rider is unique ride experience but hardly worth the wait. - William LeMasurier A good, small stand-up coaster. Better than you might think...although very, very short. - Scottland Jacobson
