Disaster TransportRoller coasterMinimum height to ride: 46 inches About Disaster TransportA "dark" coaster filled with various lighting effects. This ride is actually a bobsled coaster. Cedar Point rethemed the old Avalanche Run ride in 1990 to become this ride. The ride is quite a different experience, a departure from the tracked steel and wooden coasters. It is also fun, and worth a try. There are 3D glasses available, but really not worth it. -- Last edited by Dan Forget [Update this description | Read previous versions] Photos from Disaster TransportSafety
Readers' Opinions
I had a really fun time on this coaster, I took it for what it was and enjoyed it - Nathaniel Gillespie Usually on indoor coasters and buildings A/C is making it a bit warmer than frigid, however, at DT the A/C either didnt work or they are turning it off to save on $$$. It was hotter inside than outside! The ride is [very] old and [very] disappointing. The graphics and themeing, which Cedar Fair does very little of, was really odd too. The coaster was very loud in general too. - Adam Clinard Disaster Transport is, surprisingly in my opinion, quite exciting and good. It's not as disastrous as I thought it would be. Although the theming is horrible and lacks the charm that Disneyland and Universal has, the ride is bizarrely enjoyable. Since I've never been on a bobsled before, I enjoy this coaster so much. Too bad it's too short. - Adriel Tjokrosaputro Not thrilling but a pretty good family ride. - Jen T Different..tobogan ride in the dark.Usually fairly short lines. - Allan Birmantas This ride is actually quite fun despite what other people say about it. It is thrilling and worth it, even if the line is rather long. At least try it first (don't listen to the negative comments) before you say anything. - Josh Wadkins Other comments are accurate. If the wait is more than 20 minutes, forget it. It's okay, not great. It's best point is that it gets you out of the hot sun for awhile. - Sean McAvella Disaster Transport is truly a disaster. If Cedar Point was smart they would replace this ride with something thrilling. - Jake Hagen
