Exotic Fish Lagoon

By Paul Churchley
Posted: February 9, 2010

One of the best experiences of a day here at Discovery Cove. Enjoy snorkelling with hundreds of different types of tropical fish in a large circular lagoon with lots of colorful reefs and grottos. Experience a near-to-real coral reef. Be amazed by the large rays swimming underneath you and the huge shoals swimming amonst the coral.

Snorkeling through the Exotic Fish Lagoon was so much fun. There were all kinds of fish and so many beautiful colors to see. The whole family loved this part of Discovery Cove! - Harriet Miller

A great place to see some cool looking fish. 9/10 - Andy Milio

The tropical fish pool was meant to be warmer than the dolphin pool but it wasn't really which was a pity because there is a lot to see and you could easily spend a couple of hours just floating around. I got a little cold in there and wished I had the full wet suit instead of the shortie but on a warm, sunny day the full suit would be too much. The number and variety of fish is staggering and if you have never snorkeled or dived in tropical reef waters then you will be amazed. Even if you have it is still impressive. We were slightly disappointed at the condition of the water and as experienced tropical water divers we thought the fish looked distressed, which wasn't too surprising given that hundreds of inexperienced snorkelers were splashing around them constantly all day. Nevertheless, it was still spectacular, in particular, the various species of larger rays. If there was a disappointment in the day then this was probably it. - Paul Churchley

This is a truly awesome experience. You and your family swim in a lagoon wearing light weight praline water vests and interact with hundreds of exotic fish. There is an artificial river with a water fall that flows around the lagoon that you can swim/float through and explore. - jim mclaughlin
