The Dolphin LagoonWritten by Bruce Lane Safety
Reader reviews of The Dolphin Lagoon
Touching the dolphin and interacting with it was one of my dreams and the experience was even better than I imagined! I would suggest wearing the full wet suit, instead of just the sleeveless shirt as the water was cold. But the experience itself was fantastic! - Harriet Miller The dolphin experience was simply fantastic. The trainers are very caring and protective of their dolphins and quite rightly so. The dolphins seemed to thoroughly enjoy meeting us as much as we them and I felt totally privileged to be allowed to meet one so up close. You cannot free swim with them and nor should you. These animals are not toys and must be treated with respect. But this encounter is certainly enough to allow you to feel that you have a better understanding of them and to realise just how special they are. Simply unforgettable! - Paul Churchley Our family visited Discovery Cove a few years ago. Friends have visited recently and say it is the same. It is a beautiful facility but rather expensive. The interaction time spent with the dolphins is in a small group of about 6-8 people. The interaction is personal including holding the dolphin's fin and being dragged along by her. Our dolphin's name was Dixie. However, family are kept at a photographic distance and if you want to get any good pictures or video you have to buy their videographer's product.(He's right next to the group). The dolphin interaction lasts only about 25 minutes. This is a once in a lifetime thrill especially for children but bring your credit card! - jim mclaughlin
