Reader reviews of Toy Story Midway Mania
great ride ,great for the family - Tyler Bell Great and different new ride. There are a number of varied and fun games and at the end of the ride you get your score and also an accuracy rating (I lost in points, but won in accuracy). The atmosphere and theme are also good. The queues can however be very long I would recommend you get there early and get a fast pass. - Emily G I will say that even for my fiance being almost 30 and I being 24. This was by far one of the most amazing things we did at any of the Disney parks. We went at the end of October so the lines were almost non existant, except for this ride. We actually opted to wait the hour while waiting for our fastpass to become valid so we could ride it twice. The queue is awesome and there was so much to look at, we didn't even notice the wait. THIS IS A DEFINITE MUST DO!!! - Erica Jayne Insanely enjoyable, especially for those with competitive families! - Mark Moore I have to say, I’m really surprised at how positive the reviews of this “ride” are. I grant you the 3-D effects are good, and the games are fun, but I find it impossible to compare this to Men In Black or Buzz Lightyear. Those are real rides. While you do ride through this attraction, all the game play takes place while sitting still in front of video screens. The show changes at each screen, but really, you could have sat still at one set of monitors and have the games come to you rather than you ride to them. I’d much rather ride through a real environment like at MIB and shoot at actual 3-D figures than sit in front of video screens and shoot at nothing. - Rob McCullough There are 2 other rides which are similar...Men In Black in Universal Studios, and Buzz Lightyears Space Ranger Spin...however...they don't come close to comparing to the quality of Midway Mania! This is a fantastic, fun, interactive game! Being a huge Toy Story fan this was always gonna be a ride I'd like, but I have to say, you don't have to be a fan of the films to enjoy and love this ride! It is, incredible. I'm 22 (although admittidly, I'm a big kid), but my parents, who are almost hitting the 50 mark, loved it just as much as myself and my girlfriend! This is the best ride in Disney! - Michael Hayford Walt Disney Imagineering came through big time with this attraction. State of the art ride. - William Clark Top notch addition to a park that badly needs new rides (too many shows in DHS). The queue is very attractive, and Mr. Potato Head is a state of the art audio-animatronic (he even sings!). The carny games are very well done and entertaining. A must see. - Sylvain Comeau I just got back from a trip where I got to ride Toy Story Mania, Men in Black, and Buzz Lightyear and Toy Story Mania was head and shoulders above the other two. Very nice queueing area...it will take you back to the toys you played with when you were a kid. These games are a lot of fun and it's much easier to understand how to play and where you are shooting than the other rides of this kind. You may want to read up on how to get the best score as each screen seems to have a special method to maximize points. - Carl Stovall Theming here is incredible. Fantastic addition to DHS. - Mike Burnette A new standard in interactive rides. Definitely better than Buzz Lightyear and Men in Black. Even though I am not a huge fan of these type of rides, I still found this to be quite fun. The 3-D images are clear and sharp looking and the other effects are a nice touch as well. The waiting area is also very nicely decorated. Thats a good thing since wait times are really long for this. The ride is new and hot so waits went up to 180 minutes when I was there and constantly stayed above 90 minutes, so grab a fastpass early or else they will run out. Even though I miss Who Wants to be a Millionaire(the show that used to occupy this building), this ride is a nice family attraction that is worth a visit. - Manny Barron
