Golden DreamsMovieDescriptionWhoopi Goldberg stars as the "Spirit of California," in this look at California history. Consider it a one-state version of Epcot's "American Adventure," except as a film, and without the Audio-Animatronics. This ride will be closing and will be replaced by a dark ride themed to the Disney animated film, "The Little Mermaid" -- Last edited by lars raddishtop [Update this description | Read previous versions] PhotosSafety

It was ok. There's so many other things to do at the park though. - Chloe ! It was ok. There's so many other things to do at the park though. - Chloe ! It was ok. There's so many other things to do at the park though. - Chloe ! The best part of this attraction is the opportunity to sit down in air conditioning and relax and watch a decent video about California. It's never to crowded and is a good bet when all attractions have long lines and you want to rest your feet. Though I dont have any problems with this attraction, the Little Mermaid dark ride will be a better addition to the park. - Manny Barron Forgettable. Its time for it to go. - Lars Raddishtop Yes, the film's purpose is to laud the state. Admirably, it also attempts to address many tough issues along the way, from genocide to racism to earthquakes. But the film lacks a suitable device that allows it to wrap everything up in an emotionally satisfying way in a few minutes' time, the way The American Adventure attraction does at Epcot. That leaves the audience with a rather mediocre junior-high state history film. Skip it. - Robert Niles In all of California's rich history, we got the white man's version. The thousands of years of Indian Life in California got 30 seconds. The gold rush about 45 seconds. Whoopi was wonderful and her parts mixed extremely well. But our state was grown on the backs of Chinese, Filipinos, Japanese, Polynesians and, most importantly, Mexicans - and this was not their story. - DOCTOR WHEELER It wasn't open when we were there in Nov 07. - Jennifer Sharpe |
