Sun Wheel

Ferris Wheel

Disney's Ferris Wheel, where there are stationary gondolas and gondolas that swing and slide. Stationary gondolas raise you 16 stories in the air. May not be operating during heavy weather conditions.

Inspired by Coney Island's Wonder Wheel. -- Last edited by Brandon Mendoza

An interesting attraction. People either like the attraction or they really hate it. It is another one of Paradise Pier's boardwalk rides, which for me, still seems weird that they are inside a Disney park. Anyway, it's still is an ok ride as it provides a relaxing view of the Disneyland Resort. I prefer the non swinging gondolas as they never have much of a wait and is a good place to go when most rides have long waits and the temperature is high. The swinging gondolas usually have long waits, and in my opinion isn't worth waiting too long for. - Manny Barron

Get a "Swing Car" for sure as Chloe suggests in a previous post. It really does make the loading and unloading process the very best part of this BIG Wheel. Enjoy the the view to the north, out over the park. Southern view behind to Katella...Whatever ? Would or could have been maybe view-wise better, if located in the middle of D C A instead of in the rear of the thing. - Dwight Graham

Very unique Ferris Wheel. If you can take the waiting time, try to ride on the mobile "buckets", instead of the traditional ones. Good relaxing fun. Never replace this! The whole point of Paradise Pier is to bring back the nostalgia of boardwalks, piers, and amusement parks of the past. What's a boardwalk or pier without a Ferris Wheel? The Santa Monica Pier has one along with a coaster, so where would that place be without it? - Brandon Mendoza

I hated this, boring and horrid. We got on the swinging car. It is on like tracks above you and when you are stopped it keeps swinging all the way forward then all the way back, vomit inducing. Yuk. Come on DCA get rid of these crappy fairway attractions and give us some more highly Disney themed cool attractions/rides. - Jennifer Sharpe

I love how you can go in a swinging or regular car. Since ferris wheels stop and go so much, the swinging side is cool because you won't get board when the ride stops to let other people on. - Chloe !
