Disney-MGM Studio Backlot Tour

Tour

Description

Disney's answer to Universal Studios' classic tour. But this one's (justifiably) all-but-forgotten, due to the lack of much production at the studios these days.

The Backlot tour is not a ride. It is a show then you get into a tram that takes you through and shows you some of Disney's history. It is fair. - Katie G-Desjardins

It's so boring, it almost needs to be totally replaced. Diensey should do something one way or the other. A BIG waste of space. - Gil Long

Awful. Just awful. A real waste of space at the park. Now how's about Disney takes this horrible attraction out and replaces it with more space for attractions and dining? - Jack Williams

This attraction is pretty sad. The most exciting part for me was the post-ride exhibit. - David Kirby

This used to be a good attraction, now with lack of interest along the route and the decrease in size due to the stunt show, has become a disapointment. The coolest part of the entire attraction is seeing the live set construction. - Michael Newsom

I consider it a rape of the natural world to call this the same attraction as the one that was back in the early-late 90's. This ride is a shell of its former self as they got rid of ALL PROPS of ANY significance in favor of an extended stunt show based on a terrible movie (Pearl Harbor) and a prop room we really should get time to spend in before moving on to the trams. One day, I will hang back and tell those with me I'm just going to look at every prop in the cages...there are some good ones from extinct Disney attractions and long forgetten, but good films. It is a crying shame they changed the backlot tour to create a parking lot and cut down for budgetary purposes...GO ONLY IF YOU VISITED THIS IN THE 90's....you will see how sad it is now. - Wilfredo Alvelo

Not bad, but not great. Catastrophe Canyon is cool, and seeing the movie props is interesting. The best part was the American Film Institute exhibit of bad guy costumes at the end. - Sylvain Comeau

It is okay, I went on the one Paris first, so this is the exact same. Love the part when the water comes down the hill and the cart rocks from side to side. - Sarah Larkin

A real yawner. Other than the canyon part, this whole ride is boring. Maybe if they had real productions there again, it will be worth it. - Vincent S
