Star ToursSimulator rideMinimum height to ride: 40 inches About Star ToursSimply the best attraction anywhere when it debuted in the late '80s, this one's showing its age. Just take a look at the dirt and damage to the film, as well as the screens, and you'll see how old the motion simulator ride truly is. In April 2005, at the Star Wars Celebration III, Star Wars creator George Lucas confirmed that a Star Tours II is in production. It should be noted that this was the first of the Park's Attractions that did not use Disney-designed imagery. -- Last edited by Brandon Mendoza [Update this description | Read previous versions] Photos from Star ToursSafety
Readers' Opinions
I love this attraction1 I know every line on this ride, which proves how little of a life I have. I also love that, according to the pre-boarding video that you watch while waiting for the tour to begin, the future will have hairspray that locks your hair in place. =D - Sarah E Fun, but outdated. It needs to be refurbished. The last time I went on though, I wasn't as impressed with the ride as I used to, it seemed too short and not very realistic. - Bellatrix Lestrange A Mickey Mouse Pretzel and cheese, ride Star Tours. A chorro and coke, ride Star Tours. Take a tour around the park on the Disneyland Rail Road, ride Star Tours. We wake up, ride Star Tours. You get the message I’m sure. Though I think this attraction is still a blast, a new storyline is due – or we’ve ridden this one too many times! I’d also wish the store you go through at the end of the ride had cooler hats. About 3 or so years ago, I purchased a Star Wars ball cap. I still get positive comments on that hat. - Bud Webb Good concept, it was a good ride, but it does need to be updated with a new movie and also the ride is a little too bumpy and jerky. I stopped riding it because it always gave me such a headache when I got off of it. Even Indiana Jones and Space Mountain don't give me the kinda bumpy headache I got from this one. - Vicci Lane This is a Disney classic. This ride features an experience that most people will enjoy(unless they get motion sickness easily). It is a basic simulator ride like Wild Arctic at Sea World and in some ways comparable to the late great, Back to the Future. I am not a Star Wars fan but still find this ride interesting. I have heard rumors for the longest time about updates to this ride. An update would be welcomed but it may be a while before that. The queue line is nicely themed with the animatronics and the feeling of being in a space station. Unless on really busy days wait times for Star Tours rarely exceed 45 minutes. They usually run in the 15-30 minute range. This is still a must ride for any Disneyland visitor. - Manny Barron Good use of ILM technology, but, could use a revamp just form effects purposes. I am sure they could do a better job. - Ben James Nothing special here, but I love this attraction despite that. A must ride for any Star Wars fan, but I would not wait more than 20 minutues for it. - Wilfredo Alvelo It needs a new movie. The once extremely interestign audio animatronic preshow really isn't going anymore. The boarding area needs to be redesigned for room. You can't walk. Along with ride quality, cast member quality has also gone down on this ride - Eric Ey It hurts me to say this but Star Tours is looking very tired now. It badly needs a re-think. At the very least it wants a re-furb but I really think it needs some tender loving care from the Imagineers to bring this ride up to scratch. Invest in it or ditch it altogether. Just don't leave this once cutting- edge ride to deteriorate any further. - Rob P My son 7 years old loves this ride, because of the Star Wars connection. I however didn't like the motion, bit like airplane turbulence. But don't let it put you off trying this. - Jennifer Sharpe I always for some reason liked this ride. It didn't seem as fun last time I went on it. It's cool when you're waiting in line though because there's so much to look at! It's hard to get board. I guess it's a pretty good ride, and if the line's not too long, go on it. - Chloe ! |
