Accidents Involving Injury at Disneyland Paris

A patient's brain injury (internal cartoid artery dissection) was attributed to a ride on Big Thunder in 1995.

    With regards to the incident above, I think you'll find that the patient already had a medical problem (I won't attempt to go into detail, I'm not a medic) But the ride may have triggered a 'Time bomb' if you will. The point is that the conditionwas not caused by the ride...only aggrevated by it. This is why there are warning notices suggesting that people with certain conditions don't ride. The said person may not have known about their condition, but that should be no reason to hold the park responsible. Sometimes things are unfortunate, it doesen't have to be someones fault. Look at how many people ride coasters, some far more dramatic than BTM, and don't experience problems. -- Submitted by Name Withheld on 9/9/2002
