MaelstromDark rideAbout MaelstromA dark-boat ride similar to that of Pirates of the Caribbean, this attraction can be found in the Norway Pavillion in World Showcase. You sail away on a Viking ship through fjords and storms, over waterfalls (forwards and backwards),and float by trolls with multiple heads. A not-to-scary adventure. It's a great addition that is a 'can-not-miss' when strolling through EPCOT. When you make land you have the choice of enjoying a short film. Though many can opt. to miss this. -- Last edited by Christopher Combs [Update this description | Read previous versions] Photos from MaelstromSafety

OLD SCHOOL! I like it. It has a weird vibe that I like...it is almost like it doesn't belong in an amusement park. - Christian Baggett Don't waste your time. Some pretty slow queues as well! - Mark Moore Weak. Come on, Norway, pump some money into your pavilion! This is saddening - the animatronics are cheap and depleted. The offshore oil rig is especially hilarious. - Joshua Counsil Maelstrom is good. The scenes during the ride are nicely set up and look good. The falls are a nice extra feature for the ride. But this ride is extremely short. Just when it starts to get going the ride ends. If the ride was longer, than this ride might be one of the best at Epcot and comparable to the legendary Pirates of the Caribbean at MK. But due to its really short length it just ends up as a nice attraction in World Showcase. Give it a try. Lines are never really that long and fastpasses are always available if you want to skip the usual 20 minute wait. - Manny Barron Its one of the few rides in the world showcase. Line can get a little long but the ride itself is pretty fun. The video following the show isnt long or boring and actually makes norway look pretty sweet. - roger murdock This is probably the worst attraction at Epcot. It certainly doesn't feel "Disney" by any means, and is in dire need of an update. Although it was cool to ride the boat backwards, there was nothing of interest in the ride. Even the line going in to the ride had nothing to look at and it made you feel like you were entering a shopping mall. The movie after the ride is worth skipping until they pull something together that is no longer right out of the 80's. - Raymond M What's with this ride? We rode it 9/28 and came out hurting. The boat has always been jerky around the trolls. But it felt like we went down the water fall on square metal wheels. Our skulls ached for hours. We threw out our FastPasses for a second ride. - ed snopse
