Maelstrom reviews
Theme Park Insider readers offer their ratings and reviews for Maelstrom, a dark ride in World Showcase - Norway at Epcot.
Written by James Rao Maelstrom is a dark boat ride in the same vein as Pirates of the Caribbean. You sail on a Viking ship through fjords and storms, over waterfalls, and float by not-too-scary trolls with multiple heads. There is a travelogue about Norway following the ride which you can opt to skip if you like.
Readers' rating:
Maelstrom is another charming ride at Epcot. The short look back at Norway's history is pretty cool. And the falls are a little thrill for anybody. - Justin Knight Very charming but short boat ride. I know that its gonna get refurbed soon. Thats fine all this ride needs is a touch of Disney magic to be a great boat ride. - Justin Knight Maelstrom is a very nice enjoyable boat ride. Although short it is a great ride to just take a load off for 5 minutes or so. It always has a wait no higher than 15 when i visit. - Justin Knight To short but so much fun! - O T A crazy head-trip of a ride. i dunno what the designers were thinking, but MAN is this a weird ride. Great during a bout of drinking around the world. - Sean Huckel Hahaha my favorite ride at Epcot. It's cheesy and fun and has drops! - Bryce McGibeny We skip it. It is far too short for the wait, and the boats are uncomfortable on my 5'8" frame and my husband's 5'10" frame. The ride is OK once but certainly not worth more than around 10 minute wait. - Becky Wheeler This ride is okay if you have the time. It's a little like Pirates of the Caribbean, but with Vikings, and much shorter. The boats are super uncomfortable. It has a very small drop at the end, but no worries about getting splashed. It's mildly entertaining, but also kind of forgettable. Still, if you have the time and you're in Norway, it's worth going on since there's hardly ever any wait time. - Renee Michelle Good dark ride, especially (watch out spoiler) where the trol sends you back. - A. P. This is a dark ride with a mild drop at the end. I enjoy seeing the Vikings and Trolls on this boat adventure. - Matthew Harackiewicz A hidden gem. Too short if anything! - Man-Eating Sharks A hidden gem. Too short if anything! - Man-Eating Sharks More attraction and restaurant ratings: |
