MaelstromDark rideDescriptionA dark-boat ride similar to that of Pirates of the Caribbean, this attraction can be found in the Norway Pavillion in World Showcase. You sail away on a Viking ship through fjords and storms, over waterfalls (forwards and backwards),and float by trolls with multiple heads. A not-to-scary adventure. It's a great addition that is a 'can-not-miss' when strolling through EPCOT. When you make land you have the choice of enjoying a short film. Though many can opt. to miss this. -- Last edited by Christopher Combs [Update this description | Read previous versions] PhotosSafety
Readers' Opinions
We really enjoy this one. Very relaxing look at the beauty of Norway. The movie at the end needs to be redone to make it more interesting. - Gil Long Don't be scared off by the plaque at the entrance that says it's a high speed adventure through Norway. It features a very moderate drop and not at all scary. Feel free to skip the video at the end. - P V Maelstrom is a fun little boat ride, somewhat similar to the one in the Mexico Pavilion. Unfortunately, when we went, we stood in line 45 minutes to ride, which is about 30 minutes too long for Maelstrom. You can skip the movie at the end; it isn't very entertaining. - Mickey Fan I love this little ride. It's a tad short, but it's absolutely charming. - colleen f Always a favorite and worth a ride everytime you visit EPCOT. - Wilfredo Alvelo Kind of weird. I went on this when i was a kid and the troll things scared me. - Colson Verheul This is actually my favorite ride at Disney. Hands down. I do not know why, I just really love it! - Molly R We liked this one. The backwards part is what really makes the ride. - Sylvain Comeau very enjoyable little ride. sort of like pirates of the caribbean at MK, except not as good and norway themed. there's a cool part where you go backwards over a small drop, and a cute polar bear. otherwise an excellent way to get off your feet and out of the sun. - roxy m Another fun boat ride. Really like the drops (ya even the fake one). But the movie at the end is something you can pass on. - Andy Marks |
