Blue Fire is a combination of a dark ride and a launched roller coaster. The ride begins with a dark ride portion lasting roughly 45 seconds.[2] The ride then moves outside, where the train is accelerated to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds using a linear synchronous motor launch on an 80-meter-long launch track.[1] The LSM launch and the box track on Blue Fire are similar to those incorporated in Maverick, an LSM-launched coaster at Cedar Point which opened in 2007.
