About Hong Kong Disneyland

History of Hong Kong Disneyland
Hong Kong Disneyland opened September 12, 2005. The park is Disney's fifth "Magic Kingdom"-style park, and the company's first theme park in China. It is by far the smallest Magic Kingdom park, lacking popular attractions such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion and Big Thunder Mountain.

How do you get to Hong Kong Disneyland?
Hong Kong Disneyland is located on Lantau Island in Hong Kong. By train, take the MTR Tung Chung line to Sunny Bay Station, then to the Disneyland Resort Station. Hong Kong Disneyland is 10 minutes from the Hong Kong International Airport.

How do I get tickets to Hong Kong Disneyland?
Tickets are available through Hong Kong Disneyland's website, or at the Hong Kong Disneyland Ticket Express, located at the MTR Hong Kong Station's Tung Chung Line Concourse.

Plan your day at Hong Kong Disneyland
Space Mountain promises to have some the park's longest lines. Go there first, unless you have small children, in which case, go first to Dumbo then Winnie the Pooh. The park is small enough that all attractions should be accessible in one day.

Ride and restaurant reservations at Hong Kong Disneyland
Fastpass ride reservations are available on Pooh, Mickey's PhilharMagic, Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear and Festival of the Lion King.
Reservations are needed for popular restaurants.

What's coming next to Hong Kong Disneyland?
Autopia, an interactive show titled "Stitch Encounter," and an aquatic playground titled "UFO Cool Zone" will come to Tomorrowland at 2006 Summer. "It's a Small World" will be opening in April 2008.

The parks first major expansion will begin immediately and go through 2014. Plans and artwork call for three new lands to be added on the left side of the park immediately adjacent to Adventureland. The first of the three lands is Grizzly Trail which, which is a slightly different version of Frontierland. It will include a major mining roller coaster that will be like a cross between Thunder Mountain and Expedition Everest. It will include a section that launches you out of a mountain. The second land is going to be Mystic Point. The major attraction here is a Haunted Mansion-esque dark ride. It will tell of a mansion whose owner collects mysterious antiquities and his mischievous monkey who one day opens Pandora's Box inside the mansion. Finally, the third land will be Toy Storyland. It will include several C and D-Ticket type off the shelf rides themed to Toy Story. They will include a green army men paracute drop, an RC car shuttle coaster, and a slinky dog Music Express style ride. In addition to these major attractions will be several minor experiences, shops, and restaurants. -- Last edited by Andrew Holden
