Kyriad HotelWritten by Robert Niles
Reader reviews of Kyriad Hotel
This is a no-theme, offsite hotel but offers a good balance between cost and proximity to the parks. The hotel has a modern French feel with simply designed rooms with white wood, pastel shades and floral patterned curtains. There are few facilities - no pool - but the Kyriad benefits from an excellent free bendy-bus shuttle that runs regularly and gets you to the park in 15 mins. The reliability of the shuttle puts the hotel ona par with some of the on-site hotels and espacailly those like the Sequoia Lodge which are a 15 min walk from the gates. The bus also connects to the RER and shuttles from CDG that also call at the hotel. This allows you to stay at this hotel even if you don't have a car. Breakfast is included. Its not a pretty affair but its more than adequate. Like the Disney Hotels its set up for volumes of visitors so don't expect a lazy breakfast in relaxing surroundings. Breakfast 1/2 hour "slots" are allocated to guests. Taks some time to pick a sensible one that fits with your plans for the park. The breakfast room is a sepaarte building which serves as a restaurant in the evening offering an all you can eat buffet for 19 Euros including drinks. While this isn't bad value in the area (and cheaper than some parts of Disney Village) its pretty average for the money. Better to drive or take the shuttle/train to nearby Val d'Europ where theres a better choice of restaurants. Or alternatively some of the nearby villages. Park tickets are available at the hotel however buying a one day two park hopper costs 61 Euros while buying online cost £41 - abour 45 Euros. Arrangements for using e-tickets at the park have also improved considerably. You can now use them at the gate instead of having to queue to collect them at an office under the Disneyland Hotel. Definately close enough to the magic to keep you in the Disney mood and save you plenty vs Disney hotels. - Adrian Hobson
