Disney's Animal Kingdom LodgeLake Buena Vista, FloridaLast edited by Robert Niles [Update this description | Read previous versions] Photos: [See all photos | Submit Photo] Video: Reader reviews of Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge
I've stayed at three Disney properties (hoping to be at a fourth this summer), and thus far...it is my favorite. We had a savannah view room, and everytime we looked outside there was a different animal. Giraffes, zebras...and more. The kids enjoyed the artist in the lobby that drew a characterture of them, and the pool is absolutely gorgeous. My husband and I each enjoyed a relaxing massage, which was very nice. Our trip was in March, and we ate at Boma for breakfast (almost daily). Delicious! I would recommend asking for a room close to the lobby (it can be a good length walk to you room). The resort is a little off the "beaten path", but with the quick bus service..there is no problem getting to the parks. The resort has plenty of activities in house too...like fireside story telling, kids activities and night vision goggles. If you love animals, and/or relaxation, this may be the Disney resort for you. - April Brilliant Anything to do with Disney is usually a hit! We were fascinated with the animals and the lodge too! This is one of the best Hotels Orlando has to offer! - Slater Reid probably the best hotel at all of WDW. followed by the stellar wilderness lodge. - Tim W We didn't stay there, but had dinner at Jiko - The Cooking Place last week 10/9/08. We explored the grounds a bit. There was a tribal dancing demonstration in the lobby when we arrived - very cool. The restuarant was fabulous - 1st class service and food. The best place I've been to eat at Disney. - Andy Guinigundo We stayed here for one night and actually won the Year of a Million Dreams family of the day. This meant we were upgraded to the presidential suite. HOLY COW!!! So this is how the other half lives. It was a beautiful suite that was huge. Highly recommended for those that can pay the price tag. The rest of the resort was beautifully decorated and seeing all those majestic animals roaming the savannah was well worth it. Disney does a wonderful job at recreating Africa. The staff is very friendly and eager to be a help in any way. I would highly recommend Animal Kingdom Lodge to any age group, especially if you have a love of animals. - Melissa Faulkner
