You can't go wrong with the "French Quarter", awesome it was and plan on returning here on my next visit! Visited the "Riverside" for a few days last year (2011), very nice too but this resort tops it I believe. The boat rides to Downtown Disney are a real treat, especially at night, loved it! Completely satisfied with this Resort! - John Chaffin

One word describes POFQ - intimate. It's almost bordering on private in the quieter times. It has a good pool and is a boat-ride away from DTD but suffers from the lack of a sit-down restaurant and, let's be honest, Boatwrights is not close and it's not so memorable that you'll walk to POR rather than go somewhere else. Like POR, it has a good Food Court. - Keith Forrest

French Quarter is a very nicely themed resort with some positive features offset by a less than excellent location within WDW property. The Mardi Gras theme is fun, but this hotel's best feature may be its physical size. It is a fairly compact resort, so even if your room is at the far end there won't be much of a walk to the lobby, restaurants, stores, pool, and bus stop. You will really appreciate that after a long day walking in the parks. While this small hotel may have slightly limited amenities compared to similar moderate resorts, Riverside is a short walk away and many of its amenities are available to French Quarter guests. The most significant drawback to this resort is its location, which isn't very close (nor very far, to be fair) to any particular park, and even the direct boat trip to Downtown Disney can take some time. - Tyler Stover

JAN 2010 - This was my first stay at a Disney property and it was excellent. This particular hotel was no-frills but the accomodations were clean, the hospitality was great, the small cafe was suitable and the buses ran on time. The price-to-quality ratio was right in line. - Christian Baggett

We stayed at the French Quarter in april of 2010. With my 80 year old parents. They loved the New Orleans French Quarter theme and the single bus stop is not confusing at all. We liked the room and the grounds. It's a beautiful place to spend a vacation, the boat ride to Downtown Disney is an attraction in itself. We look forward to a return trip! - Dan Sisneros
