KennywoodPittsburgh, PennsylvaniaAbout KennywoodKennywood is often considered to be "America's Finest Traditional Amusement Park". And any visit to Kennywood would prove that. Kennywood is an old-fashioned 'Trolley Park' that got its start in 1898. It has a lot of older, vintage rides that you just don't find in modern amusement parks anymore. But it also has a healthy mix of newer, state-of-the-art thrill rides as well. Kennywood is ever changing, but prides itself on its history, too. It is one of only two amusement parks that has been designated a National Historic Landmark. In a world full of mega-theme parks trying to recreate nostalgia, Kennywood's nostalgia is genuine. It truly is "America's Finest Traditional Amusement Park"! If you plan on visiting, be sure to bring some cash. Aside from the Penny Arcade, with it's always popular Skeeball (still only a quarter for 9 balls), you'll need good old fashioned money for food and snacks. Credit cards are only accepted at the park entrance, gift shops and only one restaurant - the Parkside Cafe. A new free service is ID Wristbands which will enable children to reunite quickly with their parties should they get separated. When you're in the Pittsburgh area, be sure to reserve a day for Kennywood. -- Last edited by Beth Bickar [Update this description | Read previous versions] Photos from KennywoodReaders' Tips for Visiting KennywoodReaders' OpinionsSafety
