Twister

Roller coaster
Minimum height to ride: 42 inches

A new interpretation of an old classic. This coaster was adapted from the plans for Mr. Twister, a legendary coaster that operated at the old Elitch Gardens. Six Flags Elitch Gardens moved the park in 1994, but opted to leave the ride behind. While the original met the wrecking ball in 1999, this replica pays homage. Its a wooden twister style coaster with a height of 101 feet, using two lifts, and a speed of about 52 mph.

While The Phoenix is known for its great airtimes, The Twister is really all about speed. It is a reproduction of the infamous Mr. Twister at Elitch Gardens created by the second most famous rollercoaster designer John Allen. The track does twist around but it is really just a full out speed demon from beginning to end. It is actually really smooth as Woodies go. This ride was a real surprise and an excellent icebreaker for kids being introduced to the world of the Rollercoaster. - Elizabeth Gray

In my opinion, one of the most underrated coasters anywhere. How does this constantly get ranked below the Phoenix? Not to put Phoenix down, but Twister is just an amazing ride, one of the best woodies out there. - Adam Imbruglio
