Great Coasters International reprofiled and retracked Knott's iconic wooden coaster for a June 2016 reopening, eliminating the mid-course brake run and installing Millennium Flyer trains.
After the recent refurbishment, GhostRider is back to running just as good as it did when it first opened. The ride is long, fast, smooth, contains plenty of airtime, and has quite a few lateral forces in the second half of the course. While it isn't the most extreme roller coaster ever built, it is still a serious thrill ride and is a lot of fun for everyone. As of this writing, I've been on 69 wood coasters, and GhostRider ranks 6th out of those. Previously, I would have filed this under time permitting, but now I'd consider it an absolute must-ride on any trip to Knott's Berry Farm.
