Readers' Opinions
I'm with Jason Kelly on this one. It's a flat-out wooden masterpiece! I just frickin' LOVE this coaster! Yeah, sure, it's rougher now than when I first rode it shortly after it had opened. It was astonishing then. And a couple years ago when I last rode it I admit I was expecting the worst after the maintenance-related horror stories I'd been hearing. Would my beloved GhostRider be a mere ghost of her former glory? Well, by gum if I wasn't nearly surprised outta my britches when that there bronco gave me a bunch o rides that STILL near knocked my spurs off! (Okay -- enough with the "old cow-poke" vernacular!) And I wasn't beaten up either. The speed and phenomenal power was still there, and, more surprisingly, a significant amount of the smoothness as well. Perhaps it had just been given a major overhaul. I don't know. But judging from the front and back-seat rides I got that day, the not-so-old girl was nearly as impressive as ever. I say "nearly" just because NO woody that's substantially bigger than the Santa Cruz Giant Dipper can EVER be expected to run exactly the same years later as it did shortly after it first opened and had just broken in. Not without being completely re-tracked. And though I can't say how it's running at this exact point in time, if it's anywhere close to what I last experienced then it's STILL one of the best darn wooden coasters in the whole wide world, let alone in the Wild Wild West! Period. - Paul Clemens Good 9 - Jason Kelly One of the best wooden coasters in the United States if not in the world. - AJ Hummel Very rough and I got bruises at my arms that day because I couldn't control my movement on-ride. Yet I like this ride because the drops are thriling, the second half was unusually amazing and it's very long. Very satisfying although you have to get prepared for the pain of your life. - Adriel Tjokrosaputro This woodies looks better than it rides. The front seat is OK, but still rather bumpy--I didn't have the heart to ride it in the back. - Chuck Campbell VERY BUMPY BUT IM VERY GOOD WIT DA STUFF SO I LOVED DIZ RIDE. DA BACK IS KRAZY U LITERALY FLY OUT OF UR SEAT. LONG FUN VERY GREAT WOODEN COASTER. - Anthony Hill Pretty fun for a wooden roller coaster. - Chloe ! An average wooden coaster, nothing exciting about the name or its design. A little rougher than it looks, the ride feels faster than it looks. The track lay-out is nothing to write home about. - Brandon Mendoza Best wooden coaster in the west! Yet, it should be renamed Rattlesnake. Get it? - lewis bryces |
