Black Mamba

Roller coaster
Minimum height to ride: 55 inches

About Black Mamba

Built by Bolliger & Mabillard and opened in May 2006 this highly themed inverted coaster has helped put Phantasialand on the theme park map!

It is 65 foot and 7" tall and icnludes a loop, zero−G Roll (Heartline Spin), Jr. Immelmann and 2 Corkscrews (Wing Over).

It has 2 trains with 8 cars per train. Riders are arranged 4 across in a single row for a total of 32 riders per train

The Black Mamba hardware cost nearly 11,000,000 Euro and the work on the themed area was another 11,000,000 Euro.

About 2/3 of the Black Mamba is below ground and the track is filled with sand to reduce noise.

Phantasialands newest rollercoaster is a triumph of theming and thrills. This inverted coaster ducks and dives through a realistic depiction of an African village. The fun begins in the immaculately designed station - as the train rolls out the station, booming African drums fill the room making for a memorable start. The rest of the ride is the usual B&M elements including a great first drop and some fun helixes at the end. It's a lot of fun flying through the scenery and the back car delivers a surprisingly intense ride. A world class rollercoaster that should not be missed. - David Wilcock
