Superman Ride Of SteelRoller coasterAbout Superman Ride Of SteelIntroduced in 2000, this Mega-Coaster manufactured by Intamin takes riders up a 200 foot tall lift hill before plunging them 190 feet back down the first drop at speeds over 70 mph. Riders then "fly" along the rest of the 5,350 feet of track over hills and hops and helixes before coming to a rather abrupt stop back at the station. A ride that had great potential but doesn't really have much. -- Last edited by Dan Forget [Update this description | Read previous versions] Photos from Superman Ride Of SteelSafety
Readers' Opinions
The best steel coaster in the Maryland! - Nick Crawford Really enjoyed this ride! Some really nice air time on a couple of the bunny-hops! - Beth Olliges Best coaster in the park. People might think it's not the best or have a boring layout, but if you rode it in '08, the blue train was faster and had more airtime than the red, for some reason. Now, in '09, it's back to normal, with both trains having massive airtime anywhere in the train. Oh, and take this into thought: I haven't ridden SFNE's version, but I have ridden other hypers that are much better. - Eli Katzman Great hyper-coaster. Its not the biggest or the fastest but, it always gives a great ride. - Will Chilcote This ride honestly sucks. Comparing this to the Ride of Steel at Six Flags New England makes this look like a pile of crap. It could have been so much better than it is. - Dan Forget
