The man was pronounced dead at a local hospital. The employee was in a restricted area underneath the coaster, which suspends passengers in ski-lift-style chairs.7/6/2000 - Mind Bender - Submitted by Name Withheld on 7/8/2001 Around a big loop, the pressure of the ride caused me to pass out. Unverified Reports6/11/2009 - The Great American Scream Machine - Submitted by mattand2895 on 6/12/2009I rode in the back seat. While going down the first hill, it felt like something snapped in my back. I couldn't breathe, yell, or talk for a few seconds, and I had terrible back pain for the rest of the ride. My back hurt for several days after. This has happened on one other wooden coaster before (the Gwazi at Busch Gardens: Tampa). The exact same thing happened on the ride except the pain was much worse and I went to the emergency room just to make sure that it wasn't serious.6/8/2009 - Acrophobia - Submitted by arlinghaus on 6/16/2009 During the drop of Acrophobia, I was free-falling to the point that I was not touching the seat. When the ride slowed down, I hit the seat extremely hard and have had very bad tailbone pain since (10 days as of this writing). I cannot sit for long periods of time (e.g., >30 minutes) in a chair with a cushion and not even for 10 minutes in a chair without a cusion. At this point, I have decided that I should have a doctor take a look.8/16/2008 - Georgia Cyclone - Submitted by blackisuzan on 8/21/2008 Rode in back of coaster. Coster is so rough/jerky that I felt something pop in my back, i had neck pain immediately and the following day the pain had become severe. the doctor has diagnosed me with whiplash. I have been out of work for THREE days because of the pain!!!! Although I have anti-inflamation pills and muscle relaxers, I'm still coping with pain.6/10/2008 - Skull Island - Submitted by creds10 on 6/18/2008 Skull Island at Six Flags over GA is very dangerous to kids. My daughter fell and cut her thigh, knee, and elbow. She was bleeding very badly. Skull Island is not safe at all. I had to use the first aid kit and put it on her wounds and 5 other kids needed 1st aide too at that same time. Other parents offered to help me with my daughter, but no concerns from Six Flags employees. I had to walk and carry her out the park. Also in the changing room another little girl fell and bumped her head. They need to put some type of water mats down for safety. I will never go back.3/29/2008 - Ninja roller coaster - Submitted by momspafford on 4/15/2008 My son who is 63lbs and 10 years old decided to ride the Ninja. He was tall enough by 7 inches. He had not ridden a roller coaster in 2 years and was very nervous and excited. He did not hear the "workers"( talking with their mouth right next to the microphone and with no articulation,) tell him to put his head against the head rest.He didn't. His neck started burning 2 hours later. It started raining so we left but his neck got worse and worse. We drove home to Mobile the next day and he was in torture. I took him to the pediatrician on MOnday and he was diagnosed with severe cervical strain also known as whiplash. It was so bad he missed 5 days of school and his jaw also locked up. He could only sip liquids and eat soft food. We saw an orthopedist for x-rays of the neck and on oral surgeon for x-rays of the jaw. His jaw still hurts and makes a crunching sound. It also hurts after every meal from chewing. He was tall enough to ride the Ninja but I believe there should be weight component also. This was a terrible and painful injury for my son. Everyone with thin children be aware of this!!!!3/22/2008 - feerless freeps - Submitted by beau13 on 11/19/2008 Client received hand injury requiring surgery when injured while grabbing the ring device used to slow and stopp riders.6/20/2006 - Thunder River - Submitted by sesandren on 6/20/2006 When we came out of the first tunnel on Thunder River the wave jerked our boat and it made my six year old son go completely sideways. He hit the to protruding pieces that are beside the steps on the boat. He had a huge gash taht was gushing blood. Luckily my mother had a paper towel with her so I was able to place it on his wound and apply pressure. We yelled to one of the monitors that are placed around the ride and she got on her walkie talkie. We had no choice but to finish out the ride. When we got to the "boat house," they knew nothing of the accident. They contacted first aid and within ten minutes or so we had someone there. They basically put a fresh gauze on it and told us to go the ER. The head of the first aid area told us they inspected the boat and there was no blood found on it. Well, no kidding....it is a water ride and it happened at the beginning of the ride. Our clothes showed the severity of his cut. He ended up with six stitches to his eyebrow. This is not a safe ride. The ridges need to be padded and each seat needs its on seatbelt.8/9/2004 - NINJA - Submitted by Name Withheld on 10/2/2004 My name is Aaron and when I rode the ninja my head was jerked very hard againest the horsecollar and I got very bad bruses and a bad earache. This ride is extremly rough and dangerous.7/15/2003 - Batman The Ride - Submitted by Name Withheld on 8/7/2003 An approximately 40 year old man collaped from chest pains after riding a roller coster in the Batman area. His elderly parents requested help from park officials and were told that security must be sent first before the park paramedic could be called. It took over 30 minutes for the security guard to show up who when ask did he know CPR responded with a no head shake. When the park paramedic was called by security he showed up about 10 minutes later with only a empty wheel chair. He did not bring any supplies or defibulator.8/18/2002 - NINJA - Submitted by Name Withheld on 7/26/2003 At the time I was 5'5" while riding the Ninja my head was repatedly struck by the harness. During part of the ride I was blacked out and when I got of the ride my vision was blurred. It didn't have any long term effects but that was my first and last over head harness coaster6/11/2002 - Acrophobia - Submitted by moilounoi on 7/19/2002 I rode on acrophobia with my friends. The feature where riders are rotated 15 degrees forward was not being used and instead riders were being dropped sittin upright. An employee informed us that the person with the key to unlock the mechanism had not shown up for work. I was dropped sitting upright. I have had constant lower back pain for over a month and I am being treated. I feel that the entire force of the drop was borne on my lower back and this would not have happened if I had been leaned forward.8/25/2001 - Batman The Ride - Submitted by Name Withheld on 8/10/2002 My sister, 22, female, had a heart attack on the ride, she therfore suffered brain damage. She was on the ride when it happened and did not have a pulse when we got off.6/14/1999 - NINJA - Submitted by fairefly on 8/19/2002 This happened to me first hand. I am 5'1" tall, short but tall enough to ride coasters. While riding the Ninja @ Six Flags GA my head was slammed against the overhead shoulder restraint repeatedly. As a result I suffered a ruptured ear drum which did require VERY costly and very painful surgery to repair. (approx $9,000 all told). At the time it happened I wasn't aware I had suffered a serious injury, as it wasn't really painful. It just felt/sounded like my ear was clogged with water. I wasn't worried, so I didn't report the accident to the park. Now I wish I had. I was pleased to discover this site, and to be given the opportunity to warn others, expecially those of smaller stature like myself, to take caution when riding this ride. I know I'll avoid it in the future. It's way to rough, and I consider this a dangerous thing!
