Accidents Involving Injury at Colossus

Official U.S. federal and state data on theme park accidents is almost nonexistent. That's why Theme Park Insider users are creating this visitor-maintained database of theme park accidents--to give public at least some information about attraction safety records.

Whilst riding Collosus my head was thrown around and one of earrings came out because of all the bashing of my ears and head against the overhead restraint. I hope the earring didnt hurt anyone in the cars behind me, I know it hit the man next to me but he said he was ok and it hadn't hurt him. I've ridden this before a few times and have never had a problem with being rattled around in my seat. Perhaps when you sit in the middle as opposed to the back or front it's worse. I had a headache after coming off the ride so I didn't go on any other rides (I was there with my nephews who went on all the kiddy rides). Just to warn others, if you have earrings please take them out just incase. It's a great ride and i'd go on it again, I know the risks but I take the chance.

    On ALL rides at Thorpe Park, it is required that you take out ALL jewellery (e.g earrings, watches)to prevent accidents like the one you have Described here. This is not Thorpe Park's fault. -- Submitted by battyboomboom on 7/15/2006
