About Detonator

View video of ride

Added in 2001, this 115ft drop tower has been a huge hit with guests.

12 people ride at a time, on seats arranged in a ring around the tower. Legs dangle freely, and the car is hoisted to the top of the tower. A countdown begins, and then the ride is actually shoved downwards. This is not just a free-fall, but an aided drop. This helps to give the ride more bite than its height would suggest! It reaches G Forces of an impressive -5.5.

The ride is immensely popular, and low capacity means you'll be spending quite a long time in the cattle pen queue line, occaisonally choking on smoke from the nearby Burger King! However, queue times for this have become more sensible of late, and the queue line made a more pleasent place to be.

This is a good spectator ride, the look on people's faces providing much amusement. Many consider it to be the scariest ride the park has to offer. -- Last edited by Sebastian Outfin
