Universal's Islands of AdventureOrlando, FloridaAbout Universal's Islands of AdventureLocation: Universal's Islands of Adventure is part of the Universal Orlando Resort, located near the intersection of I-4 and Florida's Turnpike, in Orlando, Florida. You can get driving directions by clicking the Universal Orlando link on Theme Park Insider's Google map of U.S. theme parks. History: Islands of Adventure opened in 1999, Universal Orlando's second theme park and the company's first not built around a movie studio theme. In 2009, a new Harry Potter-themed Island, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, will open, possibly incorporating elements from The Lost Continent. It will feature three different areas: the forbidden forest, Hogsmeade Village, and Hogwarts Castle itself. Three attractions (not known yet) will come with this land, as well as many Harry Potter themed shops and restaurants. Hours: http://www.universalorlando.com.
