Jurassic Park Discovery Center reviews
Theme Park Insider readers offer their ratings and reviews for Jurassic Park Discovery Center, a walk through in Jurassic Park at Universal's Islands of Adventure.
Written by Terri Pierce Interactive museum-type exhibits that show you a little about the history and habits of dinosaurs. All keeping with the "Jurassic Park" mythology, of course.
Museum is currently currently closed "for collection of new dinosaur DNA".
Readers' rating:
Love eating here and then exploring. It really makes me feel as if I'm in Jurassic Park, especially with the Raptor babies that hatch! - Bryce McGibeny Interesting and some great photo ops here, nice place. - David Shaul 9/14/2012: Despite the outdated description above, the center is open and fully operational. They tried to create an Epcot-like exploration center, with computer kiosks to meld your face with a dinosaur's (mine didn't work), opportunities to "see" and "hear" the way a dinosaur would, and a fossil wall where you can use a pretend scanner to find out more about the embedded fossils. Definitely the main draw was the hatching of a raptor egg, with a comical narration by a "scientist" and a tiny, cute animatronic dino. Could have been improved by the dino taking a nip out of the guy's finger. Provided a brief respite from the passing showers outside. - Jennifer Schwing Awesome theming, its just like being in the movie. Nice to see a dinosaur egg hatch! Wish they had this in Hollywood. - nick stechman Cool place to look around - Andrew Dougherty Jurassic Park Discovery Centre is usually fairly quiet. I didn't find a lot of things to do there, but it is a nice place to get out of the heat or cold or rain or crowd. - Lisa K Just like the movie, well done Universal on more fantastic theming - Ben Price I'm only giving it a five because I won a free Express Pass here! Other than that it's just nice to see a re-creation from the movie. Needs an update though. 5/10 - D H Definitely a place for kids although me and my sister (20 and 24) had a great deal of fun using her radiology skills to see baby dinos! I also like visiting my friend T-Rex and long necked dino... they're very stiff I spend my time trying to loosen them up. - Terri Pierce More attraction and restaurant ratings: |
