Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem reviews
Theme Park Insider readers offer their ratings and reviews for Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem, a 4d movie in Production Central at Universal Studios Florida.
Written by Robert Niles Despicable Me replaced the Jimmy Neutron attraction at Universal Studios Florida in June 2012. (The ride is now in previews.)
The new show, to be filmed in high definition 3D, will transform the audience into Minions, accompanying Gru and his daughters as they visit the Universal Orlando Resort. The finale will feature an interactive dance party with the Minions (i.e. you!)
Readers' rating:
Rough and dumb. Hurt everybody in my group! Stay away! - Anthony Murphy This ride is a perfect simulator. Its really smooth, has a realy good queue, and is a funny experience all around. I counted myself laughing around 15 times throughout the whole ride. Cant miss. - Justin Knight One of the best rides at USO, the pre-show is really good, the 3d amazing, and the whole experience very entertaining, not to miss! - David Shaul First experienced this ride at HHN 22. What a great family ride is all I have to say! The minions are hilarious and perfect for a crazy, wacky ride like this one! - Bryce McGibeny This is a great ride nobody should miss. A BIG improvement of JN. 9/10 - Dominick D I lovee this rideee so much the theming is perfect the pre show is one of the bests I ever seen is an awosome replacement for neutron this is a must see everytime you go to USF - Giovanny Cruz I loved the movie and this ride captured the essence of what made the movie so great. The simulator included a whole bunch of refrences that people will instantly get and the queue is great to. Its the first ride you'll hit in the park and definately cant be missed. Props to Universal for building a ride thats now my favorite their! :) - Justin Knight Being the first new attraction that has opened at Universal Orlando Resort since Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, Despicable Me Minion Mayhem had big shoes to fill. Given the lack of immersion and thematic details that both The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera and Jimmy Neutron's Nicktoon Blast suffered, Despicable Me takes a subpar ride system and makes it a quality experience that everyone can enjoy. The ride itself re-uses the same basic motion simulator system that the two predecessors used, and beefs it up a bit, with a larger screen, enhanced vehicle movements, and 4K HD 3D technology that creates a whole new experience. What really shines though, are both the pre-show experiences and the post-show experience. Every wall is themed from floor to ceiling--no bare black walls like in the previous two attractions. A whole new level of immersion has been created here, all based on one of Universal's most popular movie of recent time. This one is definitely worth checking out. - Derek Coley A great replacement for Neutron, this ride entertains all ages. Loved the banana smell! - Amy Smith This was a fun and inspired ride. The themeing is just fantastic and the whole experience from getting in line until you exit the gift shop captures the essence of Despicable Me. Universal deserves a nice round of applause for turning this space from a boring disjointed ride into something special. - Jason Vervlied Minion Mayhem is a very entertaining, cute, silly, and strangely endearing addition to Universal Studios. Unlike the building's previous occupant, Jimmy Neutron, Minion Mayhem seems to be able to capture the rambunctiously innocent spirit of the original occupant Hanna Barbera. The ride has fun and immersive theming from the queue to the pre show rooms. The show even goes on as you exit out to a minion dance party at the end of your ride! Minion Mayhem is a fun 3-D motion simulated adventure that is sure to charm the whole family from the kids to teens and from preteens to adults. - Randolph Wright Despite the delays (the ride was in technical rehearsal at the time), Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem is a fun and heartwarming simulator ride. The dance party at the end was the icing on top of the cake. - Jorge Arnoldson More attraction and restaurant ratings: |
