In the same vein as Universal's (dear departed) Backdraft and Twister attractions, this is an automated special effects display on a soundstage. The idea is that a category 5 hurricane is hitting New York City, and the effects are OK if you suspend your disbelief just a little. It might have been a stronger attraction if the effects were related to movies made by Steven Spielberg, since his name is in the title and he provides the introduction. - Bryan Wawzenek

DAY: Friday. TIME: Midday. STANDARD LINE: 6 minutes. SINGLE RIDER LINE: n/a. RIDE/SHOW DURATION: 11 minutes. TIP: In the first row, you may get splashed, however, you can choose where to stand once in the main show room, so don't worry if they put you in the front row! DESCRIPTION: Unfortunately, for me, this is the weakest link in the park. I was very disappointed. The first room with Mr Spielberg was great (although sound-barrier breaking loud). I was expecting more rooms behind-the-scenes, but there is only one. Nothing even looks remotely real. It's very slow and mechanical. You'll see what I mean :P Sorry Universal but you could have done much better with this. - Daniel Smith
