Guests board sleek rocket trains with one-behind-another seating and blast off on an adventure through space in this indoor roller coaster. Contrary to common belief Space Mountain is not strictly a Wild Mouse roller coaster, though the custom track offers some minor simularities.

The ride was refurbished in 2010 and now offers some additional on-ride effects, as well as interactive elements in the queue. Space Mountain is not a fast coaster - the top speed is only around 28 mph - but it is twisty, with over 3G in lateral forces on some whippy turns.

The ride is fast, dark and surprising. Some medium drops but tons of fun. - B Higgins

So much better than the one in Disneyland - Paul Miller

8/10 - Not the fastest, not the scariest, but wow it's fun - James Wimbury

Classic - Tyler Bell

Another great thrill ride - Andrew Dougherty

The comfy seats alone make it worth riding! It's a great ride, except it's just a ride you would find at a fair. But this takes it to a new level and makes it outstanding. 9/10 - Eric Cartman

I like the ride itself and the detailed queue. The ride isn't that scary since my kids weren't scared alot. The thrill factor is just the right amount since its not too scary or its not. - Brendan Harrison

8/10 Better than its Disneyland cousin because of the drops. Great use of theme to mask what would be a mundane coaster otherwise. - Andrew Carrieri

A very rough and dark ride. I love the unexpected drops that you will encounter, but this roller coaster is one of my favorites. - Matthew Harackiewicz

I Love all indoor coaster but this is a clasic must ride every time you go to DMK - Giovanny Cruz

Its good. But no more than that. Pretty slow and uncomfortable but as its in the dark, it seems faster. Exterior is brilliant and theming is much better than it used to be. But still a very average coaster - James McGee

This is my favorite ride in the magic kingdom. That said, I'm not so happy with the new effects with the music because you can barely hear it. but if you don't like jerkiness don't ride it, also don't wait more than 30 minutes for this ride. Take fastpass! 10/10 - Big Cohube

how can you avoid the classic Space Mountain? While its not exaclty an "Eticket" compared to some Universal metal beasts, it still deserves credit for its history and theming, something IOA's "spagetti bowls" lack. I can understand why people would want to wait hours. do yourself a favor, get a fastpass, hop on Carousel fo progress, perhaps other shot lines tomorrowland attractions like TTA or Buzz Lightyear and then enjoy SM - travis traymoore

I ride it just for the phenomenal queue music! That said, it is the realistic spaceflight experience it used to be marketed as: waiting in a long, long, long line for a suicide-inducing period of time before you get the chance to bet your life on 1970s technology is a pretty good match as far as NASA's Astronaut Office is concerned. - Man-Eating Sharks
