Knott's --HangTime construction, work on Sky Cabin

Edited: December 20, 2017, 8:04 AM

I was at Knott's this past Monday (12/18). We probably are at the park once or twice a month, but I haven't really taken a look at the construction on the HangTime roller coaster for a month or more.

The work has progressed really quickly since the announcement was made in August and actual vertical construction began around the beginning of November. (you can watch construction going on via 24/7 webcams of the Boardwalk area near HangTime and Ghost Town near Calico Square on the Knott's website: knotts.com/explore/live-video-- most of the work seems to happen when the park is closed).

I posted four photos on Twitter on Monday: https://twitter.com/Hubert_Wong2/status/942866241361817600

Also, the Sky Cabin (after the malfunction last New Year's Eve where multiple riders were stuck for 5-6 hours) which has not re-opened since the incident, has had its cabin set at the topmost position for several weeks, and many (if not all) of the windows have been taken out. I asked a ride operator for Coast Rider next door what is going on, and he said they are refurbishing the Sky Cabin (to make sure it is safe?), and the cabin needs to be at the top position because otherwise the cables will bang against the tower when the winds are strong.
