Many Walt Disney World fans have been complaining about the prices at the new The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant, located on the BoardWalk near EPCOT.
With sandwiches running $24-29, a kids PB&J for $13, a side of fries for $15, and Coke beverages costing $7, it's no surprise that a lot fans are asking questions. Do keep in mind, however, that this is not a Disney restaurant. Cake Bake Shop is an Indianapolis restaurant that's operating as an outside vendor at Disney.
Looking into things, the prices at its Broad Ripple store in Indy are not much different than the WDW store - the same for much of the kids menu and sides, and a few bucks less for the sandwiches. But a few items were more back in Indiana than in Florida.
And even though Cokes are $7 and ice teas and lemonades are $9 each, the beers are only $12. Wines are as low as $14 a glass and some cocktails are under $20, which are not nearly as inflated to the outside world as the food prices. That's giving me vibes of a bar that doesn't want to serve food, but is legally obligated to in order to have a liquor license.
Anyway... all this brings up the question - what is the most overpriced theme park restaurant that you have encountered?
I am not talking about the most expensive. Sometimes, a great meal is worth a big check. Nor am I asking about bad quality. If it's meh, but cheap and filling, that can be a good deal sometimes, too.
I want to hear about places to eat where the price v. quality ratio had tipped entirely the wrong way. Since we started here with Cake Bake Shop, third-party restaurants are fair game for inclusion - just so long as they are located on a theme park's property.
What do you think?
Anything at a Six Flags park, is that an acceptable answer? Their quality is atrocious for some carb bomb of a meal that is insanely over-priced, and you'll have the privilege of waiting in line for far too long because their processes are old and out of date.
I feel that as good as it has historically been, LeCellier is rather overpriced. Space 220 is also overpriced, but one could argue that the premium price charged there is for the ambiance and overall experience.
I've also felt that Sharks (SWWO) is rather overpriced and that like Space 220 can be argued that the premium charged is for the ambiance and theming.
Parking Yes Parking
$30 to park is way too high... I know it's not food but still you can eat in a paring garage so there it is.....
When we first started to visit Orlando in 2004 it was $10 to $12.....
But seriously - most places in Disney Springs -
The boathouse and The Edison are probably the worst...
Rainforest Cafe please stand up and be recognized!
Brian, your reasoning behind parking being a restaurant tracks. That is, in fact, a restaurant.

All of them? Is that an acceptable answer?
