I wanted to note that Oakwood - the largest theme park in Wales - has closed, without notice. The park, which opened in 1987, had its last day of operation in November before closing for what was thought to be the season.
Now, the closing is permanent. The owner, Aspro Parks, cited "unrelenting economic challenges," according to the BBC: https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c778vdj21zxo
Oakwood had a few notable roller coasters, including a CCI woodie (Megafobia) and a Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter (Speed: No Limits). No word yet on what might happen to them or any of the other rides at the park.
I never visited and can't recall ever covering anything from this park before, which is why I did not put this on the front page. But I wanted to note the park's passing here, in case anyone had anything to say.
It is always sad to see any theme park go out of business. With the downturn in the economy I hope that does not happen to the two main theme parks here in Ohio where I currently reside. I am still hoping things improve and we can get back to some state of normal.

She will be remembered for her love of all things feline and her delicious lingonberry tarts. Sail on Oakwood, we hardly knew ‘ye.
