Does the Name Make a Difference?
If you see a name on something, let's say a Resort or Hotel or even an attraction, does the name sway the way you think about it?
When we visit Florida we like a Full Resort rather than a hotel room. We like the Vistana Resort, but we also have stayed at Floridays and Blue Green.
Now Floridays has the best name but is it just an average resort, Vistana Resort is so much better, 7 pools, great balconies, beautiful walking paths. But just a boring name.
Now take Floridays - I love the name and it sounds like a nice vacation spot but the resort is small, just two pools, no real restaurant, the rooms are very average. (They do allow dogs so that is a plus). I wanted to stay there partially because of the fantastic name.
What about the parks themselves? Would Disney be Disney, would SeaWorld be more popular? Does Dollywood’s name make you want to visit?

And they never ask again. HAHAHAHAH - Maybe I am Bold when I tell them NO..
But sure I will check out Bahama Bay in Lake Davenport and Highlands Reserve.

I think many parks didn't succeed because their name is recognizable and catchy, but their names are recognizable and catchy because the parks succeeded.
That being said, their are plenty of good and bad names. "Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure", "Incredicoaster", "Expedition Odyessy", "Tiana's Bayou Adventure", "Millenium Falcon: Smuggler's Run" and "Gaurdians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind" are all rides that manage to be good (or acceptable at least) while having bad names.
Meanwhile, favorites include "Flight of Passage", "Expedition Everest", "Tower of Terror", "Star Tours", "Big Thunder Mountain Railroad", "Forbidden Journey" and Busch Gardens' many African-originated names are all fun to say and fun to ride.
Interesting question, Brian. The name of the park is irrelevant, it's about the attractions, customer service and experience and for accommodation it will be driven by personal budget and choice. We prefer self-catering so look at condos and villas never a hotel room. I have stayed at Vistana Village Resort but wouldn't stay again as I was hounded daily by the Time Share posse. I eventually succumbed and surprise, surprise the one hour talk and $100 turned into half a day+ of torture where $100 was scant consolation so resorts have a down side.
Try Bahama Bay in Lake Davenport for 3-bed self-catering condos or for villas, Highlands Reserve. HR is by far the best accommodation we have stayed at for the price.
