CGA 2027

When CGA released their 2026 calendar it showed them closing after labor day and not having a Halloween Haunt, which led to rampant speculation that Six Flags was done with this park and closing it after this season. Sometime this season CGA quietly expanded their operating calendar to be open weekends in October (though still no Halloween event) and they are selling 2027 season passes, with no mention of it being the last season or anything. It appears the park just plans to operate normally next season with no indication that it is closing, even with it being the last year of the lease.

Does anyone have any update on this? I'd like to visit on the parks closing day, Six Flags said the park would be closing after the 2027 season unless they changed their mind, but that was years ago and they have given no information since.

Ironically, the day after I posted this, it was posted on Reddit that Six Flags sent out a new attractions survey and one of the options is clearly Top Gun from CGA (the other is Arie Force One). So its safe to say they are at least exploring the idea of relocating that ride.

The original plan if they were closing this year was to make the announcement around the time passes would normally go on sale, so I would expect that might be the play next year as well. However, I could also see them making an announcement earlier in the season (or before the season starts) as it could be a way to spur another wave of pass sales during the slow first quarter. It will probably be much like this year otherwise, just normal park operation without much in the way of special events or fanfare around the closure.

If Six Flags pulled an about face on their plans and did sign a lease extension, I'd expect to hear about it sooner rather than later as that might look good to shareholders. However, the fact that they're considering relocating 30+ year old B&Ms as new attractions points toward a fairly bleak financial position for the company, and it doesn't really make sense to continue leasing the land to keep the park open for the amount it brings in.
