Cops bust five in Six Flags hand stamp forgery scheme

October 24, 2006, 9:07 AM · Great article from New Jersey today:

Police arrested five men at Six Flags Great Adventure Sunday, following a tip from park security.

The men were found to have equipment to make and check hand stamps to gain entry into the park, [Sgt. Thomas] Hratko said. Included in the findings were hand stamps, latex gloves, baby powder and an ultraviolet light, Hratko said.

The men face charges of forgery, conspiracy and possession of a forgery device. But, as they say, that's not all....

Seems like the boys enjoyed a little, um, extra entertainment along with faking their way into the park. Cops found pot, cocaine *and* Ecstasy on one of the suspects and all five face various drug charges. Which, of course, makes the reported time of the arrest on Sunday afternoon all the more appropriate... 4:20 p.m.

I'm curious, did they find out they forged their way in, THEN busten them for drugs, or was it the other way around? I would believe they were busted for drugs, AND THEN cought without tickets or any form of pay for entry.

October 24, 2006 at 11:47 AM · Has Six Flags Great Adventure let alone the Six Flags chain created a pricing system that makes counterfeit seem like a good alternative?

If you have been or know of anyone who has been to the Jackson, New Jersey amusement park (or any Six Flags Park for that matter), you’ll know how expensive the venue is for a family, let alone a couple looking for a day of fun. $15 to park and so on…

October 24, 2006 at 1:21 PM · I have never been to a six flags park before, and was actually thinking of visiting six flags great adventure, but I just keep hearing more and more negatives on these parks. This is really sad, I think I will stick with my PKD and BGE trips and maybe hit up hershey and Dorney. I would rather travel the extra miles than take a chance on Six Flags!
October 24, 2006 at 1:24 PM · Just to clarify, because I got a couple of e-mails that indicated folks didn't get it... by posting this item, I am mocking these losers. (Plus, let's give a hand to Six Flags security for its role in apprehending these dolts, too.)

I mean, counterfeit *handstamps*? Handstamps? How stoned must someone be to think that's gonna make enough bucks to be worth the risk of getting caught?

Oh, wait, I think the article just answered that question. ;-)

October 24, 2006 at 1:45 PM · People, don't be upset at Six Flags, they caught these dolts.

Hey, if squeaky clean me knows this reference, the rest of y'all who didn't get it really aren't spending much time in pop culture.... ;-)

October 25, 2006 at 12:43 AM · There are some STUPID people out there, man. I don't even need to get all eloquently insulting...they insulted themselves more than enough by carrying out the act of something THAT dumb.
October 25, 2006 at 7:29 AM · Well Christy, I wouldn't give up on SF pks. I mean SFFTX is a GREAT park. We went just this past Sunday, it was great as usual. Not every park is like that. The one in Oklahoma is ok too, not updated but good nonetheless, plus it's cheap to park ($6) & for admission too, just $20 online (unless they raised the price w/o my knowledge). I think this is terrible that ppl like this hafta ruin things for others trying to have a good time. Just like grade school when we were allowed to wear shorts (had to be long enough to reach our knees) and one person HAD to wear short shorts & cause everyone to lose the privilege. I think that's what's gonna happen eventually, enuf ppl are gonna make it to where the innocent patrons hafta pay somehow in someway, like not being able to reenter. I think you should at least show your admission ticket when you reenter. That wud make sense. But then there will be forged tix now, oy oy oye.
