Carowinds completes track on its Intimidator

December 21, 2009, 12:49 PM · Carowinds announced today that it has completed the track for its Intimidator roller coaster, the Dale Earnhardt-themed Bolliger & Mabillard Hyper that it will debut in Spring 2010.

Sister park Kings Dominion is building an Earnhardt-themed coaster for 2010, as well. Its Intimidator 305, an Intamin Giga, topped out earlier this month. Track construction continues there.

Double odds if the same park twins it with a coaster named "Devil's Tail."

But yes driving by it is really something to see. Coming south on I-77 and it jumps out at you in the skyline. I'm definitely coming home in the summer to give it a ride!
