March 23, 2010 at 8:06 AM · I think Popeye's Bilge Rat Barges are the best ride of it's kind however it can't compete with the Mummy.

March 23, 2010 at 8:11 AM · Have to echo Don's sentiments, Popeye is a great attraction, one of the best raft rides around, but it simply can't compete with the world-class attraction that is Revenge of the Mummy.

March 23, 2010 at 9:12 AM · This was a tough one... I haven't been on Popeye & Bluto's Bilge Rat Barges yet and I actually do like raft rides. But this one's themed so it makes it even cooler! But I had to vote for Mummy only because it's similar to the USH one (but better) and it can be ridden any time of the year. As much as I'd love to vote for Popeye, I can't really vote for it since I've never been on it.

March 23, 2010 at 9:43 AM · I disagree with all of the aforementioned comments. I am of the minority that believes Mummy is overrated. Good, but overrated. Some of the effects are great, but I can't get past the glow-paint and strobe lights on the coaster portion of the ride. The inanimate guards in the gold scene also ruin the illusion, and it seems that everywhere you look, you encounter an exit sign.

Popeye, on the other hand, is pure, thoughtless joy. Easily the best rapids ride around, packing in more thrills and laughs than three rides on the Mummy. And unlike most rapids rides, which seem to lose momentum very quickly, the intensity never subdues. Just when you think the ride is over, BOOM - a lift hill to what has to be the steepest rapids ride drop I've ever experienced.

This is one of the few instances where I'll vote for pure fun over atmosphere. Popeye needs to eat some spinach and smack Imhotep back to the pyramids.

March 23, 2010 at 11:00 AM · Popeyes is by far the best, and wettest, ride of its kind. Love the gags and the actual rapids of the ride. RotM is flat out great and a ride that should compete for the title. Both are fun but Imhotep takes this one.
