One of Florida's most iconic retailers is coming to Walt Disney World's Disney Springs. Ron Jon Surf Shop has announced that it will open in Disney World's shopping and dining district later this year.
"We are thrilled to be planning a new Ron Jon store located at Disney Springs," Ron Jon Surf Shop President Debbie Harvey said in a press release from Disney. "This is an extremely popular shopping destination for local residents and the millions of visitors coming to the Orlando area, and we feel it’s the perfect location for a new Ron Jon Surf Shop."
Ron Jon has a store at the Florida Mall, but lost its International Drive location when the Artegon Marketplace closed last year. The popular surf shop, whose logo can be seen adorning bumpers all over the state, also operates stores in Cocoa Beach, Clearwater Beach, Fort Myers, Key West, and Panama City Beach, as well as shops in Alabama, South Carolina, Maryland, and in its original market on the Jersey Shore.
The Cocoa Beach flagship is the world's largest surf-themed store and never closes, operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. (For northerners, what L.L. Bean is to Maine, Ron Jon is to Florida.) With reach like this, Ron Jon's business extends far beyond selling boards, with most of its business now in surf- and skate-lifestyle apparel, including its ubiquitous T-shirts.
No specific opening date yet, beyond "late 2019."Tweet
