Dollywood announces May opening for Wildwood Grove expansion

March 15, 2019, 10:11 PM · Dolly Parton opened the 2019 season at Dollywood today, delivering the news about an opening date for the park's new Wildwood Grove land.

Wildwood Grove includes seven family attractions, centered around an iconic "Wildwood Tree" that will light up with multicolored butterflies after dark. The new land will open on May 10.

In the meantime, the Pigeon Forge, Tennessee park will offer its Festival of Nations through April 14. The food and music festival features performances by Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba and Drumstruck, as well as an international menu, "including grilled beef skewers from Trinidad, poutine and fried cheese curds from Canada, and beef bulgogi nachos over wonton chips from South Korea."

Dollywood opened to season passholders today and will open to the public on Saturday.

Dollywood's upcoming Wildwood Grove looks very appealing and I especially appreciate how this new expansion themed area has its own charcters and a proper original narrative as well! Have to cheer when theme parks generate their own IP these days:)

You can't have a Wildwood Grove without Jim Stafford's Wildwood Weed!

If that's the case, the butterflies won't be the only thing lighting up at night!
