Who's looking forward to this year's Epcot Food & Wine festival?

July 2, 2019, 6:53 PM · The Walt Disney World Resort has a big day coming up on August 29. That's not only the opening day for Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disney's Hollywood Studios, it's also the first day for Epcot's longest-ever International Food & Wine Festival.

This year's festival runs for 87 days through November 23 and will feature the usual dozens of marketplaces offering internationally themed food and drinks throughout the World Showcase. But since I know that many fans look forward to hearing what's new each year, let's get a quick run through the highlights.

You will find two new marketplaces at this year's event, replacing the retired Greece and New Zealand booths. The Alps will feature mountain fare, including warm Raclette Swiss Cheese with baby potatoes, Cornichons and baguette, venison stew with crushed potatoes (pictured below), and blueberry and almond Frangipane tart with Crème Fraîche and almonds.

Appleseed Orchard takes over the O Canada! theater while that CircleVision movie is getting a refresh. Inside, you will find a Charcuterie and cheese plate as well as caramel-apple popcorn.

The Earth Eats marketplace is now sponsored by Impossible Foods, adding an Impossible Cottage Pie to the Impossible Burger. Elsewhere, the France marketplace has added "Fondue Savoyarde," a fondue of imported cheeses and Chardonnay served with croutons.

And the Italy marketplace also features a new menu, with Ravioli Carbonara, Costine di Maiale (Balsamic-glazed pork ribs), crispy chicken with Marinara, traditional Sicilian cannoli and a Chocolate-Hazelnut cake.

You can find the complete menus from all of this year's Epcot International Food & Wine Festival marketplaces on Walt Disney World's website.

Just cos it’s a pet peeve of mine, good on Disney for correctly calling a cottage pie a cottage pie (even if it is made of FakeFood). It being mislabelled a Shepard’s pie bothers me for some reason.

Indeed, it's only a Shepard’s pie when it's made of real Shepard.

This is always a favorite time for my parents to visit. Sure, it can be very crowded but still amazing taking in all the stands and the wares.

I`m definitely not looking forward to seeing people throwing up in the bushes again. How more un-Disney can you get?

Although I won't be making a trip down there this year, I'm sad to see New Zealand go, as they had my favorite dish of anything at Food & Wine - Grilled Lamb Chop with Mint Pesto and Potato Crunchies!!!! FTW!!

While quickly Googling it for the proper name, it seems that 2016 is the last year they served this, as they moved to lamb meatballs and some venison dish.

I guess I wouldn't be missing anything, anyway. And it's been quite a while now, since I've been to WDW. How time flies.
