Cheetah Chase Opens at Holiday World & Splashin' Safari

July 4, 2020, 10:47 PM · Holiday World today officially assumed the crown of "Water Coaster Capital of the World" with the opening of its record third water coaster, Cheetah Chase.

Featuring a flat launch and propulsion with targeted water nozzles rather than Linear Induction Motors, Cheetah Chase is one of the first dueling water coasters in the world, sending riders along more than 1,700 feet of combined track. Check out the POV video:

Cheetah Chase joins Mammoth and Wildebeest in the water coaster line-up in the Splashin' Safari water park that's included with daily admission to Santa Claus, Indiana's Holiday World. It's also one of three new attractions to open at theme parks across the country this Independence Day weekend, joining Candymonium at Hersheypark and Orion at Kings Island. Follow those links for on-ride video of those new roller coasters.

Over on our Twitter account, we're running a little poll to see which of these three new attractions you think "won the weekend."

As many theme parks and water parks as I've been to NONE of the water coasters have even come close yet to besting Master Blaster at Schlitterbahn New Braunfels, not even Krakatau, but this one looks like it actually might finally do so. I've been on MAmmoth and Wildebeest and while they were fun they still didn't beat the grandaddy of big water coasters in Texas. This looks like a fabulous ride and genuinely thrilling! The POV looks better than anything I've seen from Candymonium or Orion so far, haha
