Let's Take a Walk Around Universal CityWalk Hollywood

September 18, 2020, 6:23 PM · NBC Sports Grill & Brew is complete. LudoBird is gone. And Penelope Toothsome has stolen Eddie Van Halen's guitar. That's the news from CityWalk Hollywood — so join us for a walking tour of Universal Studios Hollywood's shopping and dining district.

The theme park remains closed, but CityWalk is welcoming guests daily. So I celebrated the change in wind that has blown the Bobcat Fire's smoke away from the LA area today by visiting for a quick photo and video tour. As I mentioned, the NBC Sports Grill & Brew sports bar restaurant that replaced the old Tony Roma's appears to be now complete, though it has not yet opened to the public.

Elsewhere, the next new Orlando import to CityWalk Hollywood — Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen — has evicted the old Hard Rock Cafe. There's not much work to be seen here, save for the removal of the iconic three-story Eddie Van Halen guitar from in front of the building.

What CityWalk gives, CityWalk also takes away. Say goodbye to LudoBird, the four-year-old fried chicken takeout window from Chef Ludo Lefebvre.

No more LudoBird

That actually was my favorite place to eat at CityWalk, so I'll miss it. But let's talk a walk around the whole shopping district, with a video tour:

CityWalk Hollywood is open from noon to 8pm daily and parking is free. Universal is conducting temperature checks before you can leave the parking garage and face coverings are required al all times unless you are seated and eating. Not all locations are open, so check Universal's website for what is available.
