Lilypad joins Toy Story Land at Walt Disney World

September 16, 2026, 4:15 PM · Walt Disney World is looking to improve the vibes on one its Toy Story-themed rides.

The resort today announced a new soundtrack for the Alien Swirling Saucers ride at Disney's Hollywood Studios. The Toy Story-themed Crazy Daisy ride has perhaps the most unfortunate acronym of any Disney attraction - and, yes, there are several strong contenders for that title. Disney is hoping that new tunes for the 2018 spinner ride might help maintain and grow its appeal.

Disney's The Happy Ride With Baymax in Tokyo Disneyland has the same ride system but has achieved wild popularity thanks to its music program. Mater's Junkyard Jamboree at Disney California Adventure also attracts fans with seasonal music overlays. So a musical upgrade for the Walt Disney World installation seems a natural next step in the attraction's evolution.

What, perhaps, is not as intuitive is Disney's choice to theme the new music set to Lilypad from "Toy Story 5." Toy Story Land at Disney's Hollywood Studios canonically has been set in Andy's backyard, placing the land's timeframe within the first couple of Toy Story films. But as fans have seen at Disneyland's Star Wars Galaxy's Edge and Avengers Campus, Disney has been more willing recently to bend timelines in its theme park lands.

Lilypad will be the DJ for the ride's new song set, "connecting to the internet to remix and mashup different tunes from a variety of music styles and genres," according to Disney.

"We wanted to think about the music in a completely new way—taking beloved songs from the Toy Story films, and create catchy new original songs, that are singable, sincere and a little cheesy, as one is about Pizza Planet," Walt Disney Imagineering Senior Creative Producer Thomas Niederhiser said. Disney commissioned musicians in Nashville to record the soundtrack for the ride, which includes "You’ve Got a Friend in Me," "We Belong Together," and "I Can’t Let You Throw Yourself Away," as well as new songs including "Spin It Back, Lilypad" and the aforementioned "Pizza Planet Promo."

The new song list debuts Friday, September 25.

I saw Jim Shull who was lead on this land originally call this out as being out of scale with everything else, and incorrectly placed as it is Andy's backyard but that is a Bonnie toy. Though I don't suppose I nor most guests would have considered this.

@AngryDuck: When it comes to incorporating IP in theme parks, designers lean on the phrase "waders, swimmers and divers". Your comment, "Though I don't suppose I nor most guests would have considered this", is on the money.
