Height Restrictions

Universal Orlando: question about height restrictions

I have a question about height restrictions. My son is 53 and a quarter inches in his socks. In his heelies, which he wears everywhere he can, he is 54 inches. In heelies, he meets the height requirements of the roller coasters at IOA. But I'm concerned about the safety issues. Now, I know they don't make people take off their shoes to measure their height to get on these coasters. I assume they allow some for shoes lifting people. So, is it safe for him to get on the coasters?

i don't know if this will help, but the manufacturer of the ride are the one's that set the ride height, not the park.

The manufacturers set the height requirements, and yes, they do take into account the fact that kids will be wearing shoes. So he'll probably be okay. But there are two other things that you should consider...

Is he skinny or heavy for his size? If he's average or a little heavy, he should definitely be okay. If he's really skinny and light, then I'd be a little more nervous.

Also, keep in mind that the measuring sticks at the park may not be always 100% accurate. If he is just barely 54", then he might still be stopped from riding if the stick is actually at 54 1/8".

I would make him no promises as to what he can and can not ride. When you're at the park, go up to the height-check, and if the cast member says he can ride, then yay! Otherwise, just tell him "next time" and go on to the next fun thing.
