The only place I can think of right now is mainly Credit Unions, they usually offer discounts on tickets.

Does anyone know how busy BGE will be on opening day (march 21st) I see Spring break is the following week. Will the kids still be in school on Friday march 21st? Thanks

Yep we have school March 21st. Crowds probably won't be very bad since it's a Friday, but get there early anyway.

The Newport News city public schools have a half day dismissal on Friday, March 21 (for conference day, I believe). But I still don't think it will be very crowded. Just like Tyler said, if there is any doubt just get there early. Some of the locals could start showing up in the afternoon, especially if the weather is exceptionally nice.

Yes, all the time share rumors are true. My family and i thought of trying to find a discount for our bge trip, because our williamsburg trip was already really expensive. We tried doing this during Howl-o-Scream, if that really makes a difference. Last year, we were planning a 10am-11pm trip and we went inside a discount place. So, the next morning, we went to the time share place at 9am, hoping to maybe to not cut off too much time. The time share place let us out at 11, even though they said we could get out at 10:30. We were all sort of cranky, and we all had bigger problems. Getting onto the highway that goes toward BGE, (i dont know which one) we run right into traffic, and only on the left side where bge goes to. So, we waist an HOUR, yes, an hour waiting for traffic. We only got 11 hours in the park, instead of 13. I know 11 is still alot, but we were all really looking forward to this trip.

So, if you would like to take that risk, go right ahead, but i wouldnt recommend it if you want to get as much time as possible. Oh, yeah, if you have kids, like about lower than 14, dont do it because they will get really restless having to wait through all that crap.

Kathy,Sorry I don't have too much information about local discounts. I have a season pass, so I don't pay much attention. But since reading this thread I have been keeping my eyes open for deals. I just got a coupon at Farm Fresh supermarkets that offers a single day adult ticket for the price of a children's ticket, valid for up to six discounted admissions. The offer expires 05/16/08. I don't know if there are any Farm Fresh supermarkets where you live, but I just thought I would pass this information along.

I was wondering, last season around Howl O scream time, I bought a season pass that included the remainder of 2007 season and all of 2008. My question is Do I have to renew that or is it good now?

Christy~ Your pass is still good, we did the same thing from 2006-2007 and had no problems on opening day. Have a great time, my whole family (11 total) will be there Friday and Sunday this coming weekend. We cant wait!!!

You might try places like Wendy's or local grocery chains like HEB or Kroger, etc. Umm sometimes if there are park commercials they'll tell where to get discount coupons. You can always look on the website to see if any are listed or even call the park. Someone there may know.

Hoping to revive this thread. Anyone know of any discount coupons anywhere? I live in Raleigh, and have never heard of the Farm Fresh.

TIA!

I found this discount code online B101RadioPromo Enter it when purchasing tickets online at the BGE site. It has discounts for various types of tickets. I got $5 off the regular price of the 7-day BGE/WC Discovery pass. I don't know how long it is good for, but I used it last weekend.

Also of note is that if you are driving to the park and have to park your vehicle in the BGE parking lots, you can save $1 off your parking fee (you will need a new one for each day, but passes on the same day are valid at both WC and BGE). You can get the discounted parking ticket at: http://commerce.4adventure.com/eStore/scripts/skins/BGW/Parking.aspx

FYI Virginia residents: BGW discounts are available at the VA Vacation Values site (A BGW microsite)

http://www.vavacationvalues.com

Good for discounts to BGW, WC and CW (as needed).

Hope this helps someone!
