Just like the thing you clicked on-- What are you doing for Memorial day '09?

anyway, I need help. I haven't been to SFA during memorial day. How are the crowds at ANY park compared to the weekend? I know SFA is never very crowded, but I want something somewhat empty... still, should i go this saturday or memorial day? I don't know... if i don't get an answer, i'll go monday.

So, please answer my 2 questions!

For Memorial Day weekend the wife and I are going to Tampa. Hitting Busch Gardens and Sheikra, Montu, Kumba and Gwazi Saturday and Memorial Day. Sunday is a day at the beach, Ft DeSoto's North Beach that is. I hear the sand there is as white and fine as confectioner's sugar and the water is a beautiful turquoise and clean as can be. Ahh.. try finding that in New Jersey.

Anyway, You may want to pick up a Quick Queue or Express pass or Flash pass or whatever they call it up there. Memorial Day weekend tends to be busy everywhere I would think.

Eli, I'm not planning to go anywhere for the 30th because Zachary and I are headed for Florida on June 19th. I just got an e-mail from Hershey Park the other day and it said they're opening up the Boardwalk section for this weekend. That's their water area, wave pool, lazy river, etc, so the park should be crowded since the forecast is going to be in the 80's for at least part of that time. Enjoy your weekend and have FUN,FUN,FUN!!!!!! :)

Eli, I guess I'm showing my age!!! I'm a veteran that served in the Army and to me, the 30th of May has and will always be Memorial Day to me. That is why I said the 30th in my other post. But the younger generation, including my grandson, get Memorial Day on the Monday before the 30th, so they can have a three day holiday. Have a nice time. :)

Thanks, robert! That's great! Anyway, I got back a while ago, and I'll post something. Do you know if ALL of the boardwalk is open? Because I'm going with my school band on June 5th. I've already been, but I still can't wait!

From what the e-mail stated, the whole Boardwalk section was opened this weekend. It's been in the lower 80's the last four days, unusual for around here. I can tell you from experience Eli, if you plan to get WET, you will get COLD. The water temps drop down into the BURRRRRR zone, but it never stopped my daughter and I from enjoying the other water rides before Boardwalk was put in recently. And even if the temps go up during the day, at night it drops down into the 40's or 50's. In fact, the high for tomorrow is 57 degrees. After that first blast of cold water shocks your body, the rest is all fun. So, have FUN,FUN,FUN!!!!! :)

Eli, the weatherman just said last night, that the first week of June was going to be cooler than normal. Maybe I can post a forecast for you on the 3rd or 4th. At least that way you'll know what to expect when you get to Hershey.

Sorry I didn't respond. I actually was not planning to go into the boardwalk no matter what weather. But, I wanted to know so I know how "clogged" the ques for coasters are going to be... thanks anyway!

With your last post in mind Eli, the extended forecast for late next week is partly cloudy with temps in the low to mid 70's. With that said, I'd say the ques would be somewhat crowded, with mostly the younger kids and parents going to the Boardwalk section. Have fun on the coasters.

Thanks! But most of my friends want to go to the boardwalk, and I'm sure some of the other schools going for the band festival all go there, too!

Right now, the extended forecast for Friday is partly cloudy, with temp of 78, not bad for the gang to try the water stuff, but remember, the temps around here cool off into the 50's at night, which will make the water temp BURRRRR, I remember those days in the past. Have Fun :)
